inTrace develops and distrbutes software and services for interactive 3D-computer graphics by using a newly developed technology called real time ray tracing. Together with the University of Saarbrücken the company has integrated this new technology into a graphics library called OpenRT - which is very similar to the well known OpenGL. This allows other application to easily take advantage of very important features like physically correct shadows, reflections and refractions. Moreover, OpenRT runs on standard PC's and is capable of using an existing network to mOultiply its performance by the amount of CPU's in the network.
In 2006 the company received the European IST prize for it's revolutionary product OpenRT.
