New IEEE conference on interactive Ray Tracing
The drive for ever-more realistic rendering has brought about a renewed interest in ray tracing, particularly in realtime ray tracing. So far however, there is no dedicated forum for this kind of research, and new findings in this area are either scattered widely over different venues, or are not published because they do not well fit into existing conferences.
To focus and facilitate research on realtime ray tracing, we are creating a new forum for this rapidly developing field, the 2006 IEEE Symposium on Interactive Ray Tracing, sponsored by the IEEE Visualisation and Graphics Technical Committee (agreement pending). We have enjoyed the amenities of the Starterzentrum at Saarland University http://www.kwt.de for the last two years which enabled us to place our offices right at the computer graphics chair of Philipp Slusallek. On several occasions however, we noticed that these rooms didn't suffice anymore. So we went out to find the company some new offices. You can now find us in Schuetzenstr. 3-5 in 66123 Saarbrücken.
